In preparation for its migration to SAP S/4HANA, Rhaetian Railway in Landquart, Switzerland, revised its 180,000 material master records for rolling stock, catenaries, tunnels and bridges with simus systems. The pilot project already revealed that the software and methodology provided by simus classmate would be indispensable for the main project. Following the successful classification and migration of 108,000 records, the system is now being used in construction, maintenance and materials management to quickly search for and create new materials, assign classes and automatically generate short texts. A classification project in collaboration with simus systems GmbH from Karlsruhe, Germany, helped with data cleaning. Subsequently, the flood of product data was limited effectively by the simus classmate software suite. Marel, globally active developer and manufacturer of machines, systems and complete solutions for the fish, meat and poultry processing industry, is introducing the simus classmate software suite for automatic calculation and work plan generation. Since January 2021, the Boxmeer and Dongen (Netherlands) production sites are already successfully using the solution. In the first half of 2021 also Gainesville in Georgia (USA) and Gardabaer in Iceland are expected to go live.
